Jason Kitenge est un jeune homme d\u00e9vou\u00e9 et passionn\u00e9 : ces deux qualit\u00e9s l\u2019ont men\u00e9, d\u00e8s son plus jeune \u00e2ge, \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper un int\u00e9r\u00eat particulier pour la gestion de projets. N\u00e9 et \u00e9lev\u00e9 \u00e0 Londres, Jason Kitenge a cependant gard\u00e9 une grande empreinte congolaise dans son \u00e9ducation. Int\u00e9ress\u00e9 par les disparit\u00e9s au Congo, ce jeune homme de 22 ans a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de rejoindre le \u201cWarwick International Development Society\u201d o\u00f9 il a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 comprendre les diff\u00e9rents aspects \u00e9conomiques et politiques qui fa\u00e7onnent aujourd\u2019hui le monde dans lequel nous vivons.<\/span><\/p>

Passionn\u00e9 par l\u2019Afrique, le d\u00e9veloppement et le commerce, Jason a voulu rechercher \u00e0 la fin de ses \u00e9tudes un parcours professionnel pouvant allier ces trois th\u00e9matiques. Jason a rencontr\u00e9 certaines difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 trouver une entreprise o\u00f9 il pouvait non seulement combiner son travail avec sa passion tout en ayant la possibilit\u00e9 de prendre des d\u00e9cisions cl\u00e9s. C\u2019est pourquoi il a d\u2019abord cr\u00e9\u00e9 un groupe de jeunes uni par la m\u00eame ambition : apporter des solutions pour am\u00e9liorer le fonctionnement de notre plan\u00e8te. Ce n\u2019est que suite \u00e0 sa participation \u00e0 l\u2019organisation du \u201cWarwick Africa Summit\u201d qu\u2019il a constat\u00e9 l\u2019impact que pouvait avoir un groupe de jeunes personnes d\u00e9di\u00e9 et focalis\u00e9 sur une th\u00e9matique. En effet, il est convaincu qu\u2019un petit groupe de personnes motiv\u00e9 peut faire la diff\u00e9rence :<\/span><\/p>

Pamoja Network est donc une entreprise g\u00e9r\u00e9e par des jeunes entrepreneurs qui souhaitent \u00e9changer et partager sur les diff\u00e9rents challenge que l\u2019Afrique doit accomplir. Ils ont constat\u00e9 un important manque de jeune africains impliqu\u00e9s dans la diaspora africaine, c\u2019est pourquoi ils souhaitent d\u00e9velopper un important r\u00e9seau qui permettra \u00e0 chacun d\u2019apporter des solutions pour les objectifs de d\u00e9veloppement durable \u201cSustainable Development Goals\u201d (SDG) des Nations Unis dans le contexte de l\u2019Afrique. En effet, \u00e9tant un jeune de la diaspora congolaise qui a v\u00e9cu \u00e0 Londres, il consid\u00e8re que son devoir est d\u2019apporter certaines de ces connaissances \u00e0 son pays d\u2019origine.<\/span><\/p>

Pour se faire, Pamoja fonctionnera sur trois th\u00e8mes. \u201cPamoja Insights\u201d permettra de r\u00e9unir diff\u00e9rents jeunes afin d\u2019\u00e9changer et d\u2019amener de nouvelles perspectives sur certains sujets. \u201cPamoja Talks\u201d sera l\u2019occasion de revenir sur les id\u00e9es apport\u00e9es pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment et d\u2019\u00e9changer avec des patrons d\u2019entreprises, des experts du domaine ou encore des repr\u00e9sentants gouvernementaux. Et finalement \u201cPamoja Fellowship\u201d sera un programme culture sur la recherche et le projet. Il permettra aux s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s du \u201cPamoja Talks\u201d de partir en Afrique afin d\u2019\u00e9changer avec divers intervenants. <\/span><\/p>

Pamoja Network est en cours d\u2019organisation et le lancement est pr\u00e9vu pour octobre 2019. \u00c0 ce jour, leur objectif est de continuer \u00e0 dessiner leur business model, et bien s\u00fbr, rencontrer des potentiels sponsors et partenaires. <\/span><\/p>

Jason Kitenge conseille \u00e0 tous les futurs entrepreneurs de faire le point sur leurs propres motivations et l\u2019implication qu\u2019ils sont pr\u00eats \u00e0 fournir pour leur projet : \u201c\u00cates-vous flexible ? Acceptez-vous l\u2019\u00e9chec? Avez-vous r\u00e9ellement une bonne raison de cr\u00e9er cette entreprise\/produit\/service?\u201d<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Jason Kitenge n\u2019a pas de regrets, il a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de lancer ce r\u00e9seau car lui aussi voulait avoir un impact sur les d\u00e9cisions de demain et pouvoir les influencer. Selon Jason, le succ\u00e8s d\u2019une entreprise r\u00e9side sur le caract\u00e8re de l\u2019entrepreneur et son implication dans ce projet. <\/span><\/p>

I\u2019m always thrilled and hopeful when I come across profiles like Jason Kitenge\u2019s. Why? because it strengthens my belief that the young African diaspora has the potential to have a significant impact and a crucial role to play in the economic and social development of the African continent.<\/div>

Jason Kitenge is the founder of the Pamoja Network - a youth driven social enterprise focused on connecting young global leaders to tackle Africa\u2019s challenges. Jason and the Pamoja members believe and have observed a lack of youth and diaspora engaged in African affairs, therefore, their vision is to develop a powerful network of young leaders globally, who collaborate with incumbent decision-makers to strategise and deliver innovative projects targeting each of the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the context of Africa.This former student of the University of Warwick was born and raised in London but definitely kept a strong link with his Congolese roots through his family but also because of his fervent interest in the country\u2019s political history especially the disparity between the Congo under Mobutu and today.<\/div>

My honest advice would be to that individual to take a strong self-assessment prior to embarking on the journey of an entrepreneur. Are you flexible? Do you have a good relationship with failure? Do you have a strong purpose as to why you\u2019re building an organization\/product\/service?<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Asides politics, Jason Kitenge has always been interested in business and trade and above all in entrepreneurship. Besides, a fun fact you should know about Jason is that at 7 years old, he was reading every newspaper possible, before selecting stories to copy out into the \u2018Kitenge Times\u2019 which he would then charge \u00a32 to his father for when he got home. So, it\u2019s safe to say he was a \u2018natural born hustler\u2019. <\/span><\/p>

The founder of Pamoja Network is also sharp, determined and full of ambitions and goes by the motto:<\/span><\/p>

The reason why he decided to embark on this journey was because he struggled to find organizations which engaged his interest and had a culture allowing junior employees to have great ownership of activities. So, it made sense to him to build one of his own which would align his work with passions and offered him an ability to make key decisions. <\/span><\/p>
